Have you ever held a flower in your hand and picked a petal off and said, “He loves me, He loves me not,” feeling lonely and sad? Desperately wanting someone to love you and miss you when they are not in your presence. Let me tell you about a man who will love you like no other.
A man who could have called twelve legions of angels to avenge him as he was nailed to a wooden cross (Matthew 26:53). A man who forgives us of our sins and judges us not when we make human mistakes.
As we sit in our lonely, sad state, pulling those petals off the flower, he will have his arms around us, telling us in our hearts that we are not alone.
Love, not nails, held him to the cross for you and me.
Love is the weapon against all the evil in the world. Love is the light that fights and breaks the darkness and chases the shadows away. In the light of the Son of God, we can overcome and remove the sin in our lives.
The love that was shown to us on the cross. We have healing and a way to the Father in heaven. No matter what our life is like on Earth. We have love that is unconditional. We do not have to act in a certain way or pay for the love of God. God’s love is freely given to all who ask for forgiveness and follow him.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16-17
God’s love gives us the strength to endure the hardships of life. Job is our example of how the love of God can restore us when we are faithful in our lives in all things. The love of God will be the light that chases away the sorrow and loneliness in our hearts.
Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God. God dwelleth in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. 1 John 4:16-19
We love him because He first made of us in his image. We love Him because His love is what held Him to the cross. His pain for us to be healed by His stripes and His blood on the cross is our salvation. No matter how many flowers are de-petaled in this world, His love for us will never change.
