Own Worst Enemy

Sometimes we are our own worst enemies. We let our self-doubts and lack of confidence define who we are. We also let other people define who we are when we doubt ourselves.

Why do we struggle with life when we can just put our problems into the hands of the Lord? We can have faith that the Lord will help us fight our battles and guide us to the other side. We try to follow the letter of the law and then give up when we falter in our walk with God. When what we should do is ask for forgiveness, for help to be stronger, and for guidance in His Word.

It is not a religious organization or doctrine, not Jimmy Swaggart, Kenneth Copeland, or the many other ministers of God's word that will get us into heaven, but our personal relationship with God on judgment day that will determine if it is heaven or hell.

We alone will answer to the God of all for our transgressions. When we let gossips and backstabbers control how we worship God in and out of the church. We will be the ones to answer on judgment day for not following the will of the Lord and seeking our own understanding and knowledge.

Eve listened to the whisperings of the serpent and ate the apple instead of following God because Adam didn't seek his own knowledge and understanding of God. They were both removed from the garden. We should not let other people's sins (gossiping, lying, and backstabbing) control how we serve and worship.

When we let other people's opinions matter more than God's opinions. We lose out on his blessings and the greatest gifts that can ever be given to us. Salvation and Heaven. It doesn't matter the hardships. We have a mighty God who can move the mountains and the sun back 10 degrees (2 Kings 20:8-11, Isaiah 38:8). Having faith as small as a mustard seed (Matthew 17:20) that can move those mountains and part the waters to walk on dry land.

We need to make Jesus our everything from when we open our eyes in the morning to when we close our eyes at night.
